Hola a mis lectores espagnoles!

Barbara

I've wanted to send a message to my Spanish readers for some time now, to say thank you for their enthusiastic support of my 2 books in translation. Both have sold very well in Spanish, and I have watched in frustration as the reviews have gone up and I've been unable to understand them!

Yet why, I wonder, have Spanish readers responded so well to my stories? Is there something about my South African tales that capture - or speak to - Spanish interests? Is it the connection with Africa first forged by Portuguese and Spanish mariners? Or is it something far more modern: the result of a lively culture of social media plus word-of-mouth recommendations? Whatever it is, I'm thrilled at the response.
Muchas gracias!
