The Case Against Fili Du Bois!

It's taken almost 5 years but here it is: my new novel, The Case Against Fili Du Bois! In this, my fourth book, the setting shifts from the desert plains of the Karoo to the stunning winelands of the Cape, where the story unfolds on a French-heritage estate in the Franschhoek valley. The time scale has shifted, too. We are now in post-apartheid South Africa, the Rainbow Nation dreamed of by Nelson Mandela.

Fili Du Bois, adopted daughter of Ray and Martin, is determined to prove her worth as heir to their thriving wine farm. But strangers arrive on the boundary and compete for employment with the resident workers who've been on the land for generations. Fili tries to be a peacemaker but tensions rise. Birth and death on the estate leave Fili fearing for her own future at Du Bois Vineyards, especially when she is implicated in a potential crime. Can she prove her innocence? Can the farm become an inspiration for the future? I hope that this story will give you an insight into the joys and challenges of a fledgling democracy - and the journey of a brave, young heroine. We need heroes and heroines right now, I feel...

While The Case Against Fili Du Bois will be released as an e-book and a paperback on 1st May, the e-book is available right now for pre-order on Amazon in the UK here, in the US here and on Amazon websites where you reside. Please leap in and order yours, and help me spread the word by telling your friends and posting a review if you enjoy it!

The French word that describes the particular, magical combination of soil, landscape and climate that can lead to a distinctive wine is called "terroir".
Some also see it as a unique reflection of place. And time.
For Fili, my young heroine, it goes further, and deeper.
Water, soil and terroir into wine...
And into life.
